Juventus Actively Negotiating to Acquire Sassuolo Star

Juventus and Sassuolo have started to converse about the fee for Domenico Berardi. There have been direct contacts between the two clubs after the Bianconeri showed interest. They proposed to do the deal by including one of their youngsters.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Neroverdi would rather cash in on their ace entirely instead of getting players in return, even though they are keen on some Bianconeri starlets. They turned down the suggested makeweights, Matias Soulé and Samuel Iling.

Sassuolo want Juventus to shell out €28/30M. Instead, the counterparty proposed €22/23M through the formula of a loan with the obligation to buy. There’s a decent gap.

The winger is pushing to complete the move before the opener. Sassuolo will face Atalanta Sunday. He has struck a deal on personal terms. He spoke with director Giovanni Carnevali to ask to be let go.

Our Take on Juventus and Berardi

The operation is gaining some traction. There’s no doubt Massimiliano Allegri prefers working with highly-productive veterans rather than prospects. While they set up the deal for Romelu Lukaku, in the end, they would have done it only on their own terms. This negotiation figures to be less challenging, but spending big for an older player wouldn’t jibe with the strategy they have had so far, though.
