Juventus Add PSG Youngster to List of Possibile Defensive Signings

Juventus might lose a lot of depth in the back in the summer and are eyeing options to replenish it. While they are high on Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic, they will also try to acquire a left-footed defender. Mitchel Bakker checks multiple boxes considering his age and versatility, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The PSG defender would be able to back up both Alex Sandro and Giorgio Chiellini as he can feature centrally or on the flank. Danilo occupied a similar role in the past campaigns with good results. Mino Raiola represents him, and Juventus have a strong relationship with the agent.

Bakker is an Ajax product and moved to Paris in 2019 in a Bosman move. He has accumulated 45 appearances over the last two seasons, tallying two assists. He has 21 caps with the Dutch U-21 national team. Considering he joined for free, his club is unlikely to ask too much for him.

Juventus could part ways with multiple center-backs in the upcoming window. They are waiting for good offers for Merih Demiral to make a profit on him. They signed him for €18M two years ago, and he has drawn interest from the Premier League. Daniele Rugani is back in Turin after a pair of loan spells, but he is a long-shot to stay, although Massimiliano Allegri will have the final say. Radu Dragusin, who could be in line for a bigger role, is the likeliest candidate to move to Sassuolo in the package for Manuel Locatelli.
