Juventus and Atalanta Finally Closing In on Major Deal

Juventus and Atalanta are concretely engaged in the negotiation for Teun Koopmeiners and are close to concurring on a fee. It won’t happen on Wednesday due to the Super Cup, but the Bianconeri believe they could manage before the opener versus Como next Monday, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.

Both teams have moved a little from their previous positions. The buyers have offered more than the initial €40/45M bid, while La Dea has come down from their €60M request.

Juventus and Atalanta could ultimately shake hands for €50M plus €5M add-ons for Koopmeiners. The Old Lady has been driving a hard bargain in their other operations to keep all their financial bullets for this one.

Therefore, the Bianconeri are probing more signings on loan. They are waiting for the final okay from Pierre Kalulu, which shouldn’t take long. They opened talks with Porto for Francisco Conceiçao, but their first proposal was rejected. It envisaged an initial €3M fee, a €20M option to buy and €5M add-ons, Romeo Agresti reports.

Koopmeiners wasn’t called up for the clash against Real Madrid because of ongoing talks with Juventus. Gian Gasperini commented harshly.

“He’s a victim of this situation. He was deprived of the possibility of playing in a great game. I’m sorry for not convincing him to stay out of such a transfer market ordeal, but he was highly affected by it. He’s a healthy lad, and we’re fond of him because he helped us get this far. They did something with a precise timing to hurt Atalanta as much as possible.”
