Juventus and Brighton Meddle in Napoli Bid for Samardzic

Napoli met again with the entourage of Lazar Samardzic in Milan at the beginning of the week, but the negotiation is not yet in its final stages. The Partenopei haven’t entirely come to terms with the player or Udinese at this stage, Sky informs.

The Italian champions have offered €20M plus €5M add-ons. They are keen on Nehuen Perez, but the Bianconeri want to keep him. It’d eventually be a separate deal.

Other teams are starting to take advantage of the impasse between Napoli, Udinese, and Samardzic. Brighton have shown interest, while Juventus are keeping tabs but could only sign him next summer.

Per Alfredo Pedullà, a midfielder isn’t a top priority for the Seagulls. The talent would like to switch sides in January. The Old Lady isn’t a major threat just yet.

The Partenopei are kicking the tires on some alternatives, for instance, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Florian Neuhaus, whom they tracked in the past, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays. Instead, his teammate Manu Koné prefers waiting till the summer.

Our Take on Napoli and Samardzic

It’s already a minor fiasco as they needed multiple quick signings to inject some life into their team. Instead, they completed just the most inconsequential one. It’d be better for Udinese if he left this month to end the awkwardness, and he has been subpar. The Azzurri are the best landing spot for him. He’d have the largest role, if not right away surely next season, out of any top side there.
