Juventus and Inter Not Favorites for Two Coveted Defenders

Juventus and Inter have been linked to Antonio Rudiger and Matthias Ginter, as the two defenders are on expiring contracts. But the Italian sides are not leading the races because of the competition and the demands by the two players, Alfredo Pedullà reports.

The Chelsea center-back asked for €10M per year, which is too pricey for the Bianconeri. Real Madrid and PSG are more likely landing spots for him. The Blues can not be counted out either, and he is reportedly in no rush to make a decision.

Coach Thomas Tuchel recently weighed in on the matter: “He is a guy who needs to trust you, and he needs to feel the connection by minutes and actions. I do not think Tony needs a lot of words and pampering and coffee talks and invitations to dinner or whatever. He is a top professional. Nothing has changed, and we are in talks. It is in good hands because I trust the club and my player. It is a no problem situation for me.”

While Juventus do not have many chances to land Rudiger, Inter seemed in a better spot for Ginter. However, the bidding war to sign him has commenced. The Nerazzurri believe to have already submitted a very competitive offer. They are considering pulling out of the race if the situation and the agents drive up his requests. Barcelona, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich are also chasing after the center-back, Sports Illustrated reports. He has announced that he will leave Borussia Moenchengladbach in a few months.
