Juventus and Koopmeiners Agree to Personal Terms

Juventus have long lusted over Teun Koopmeiners and made strides in their chase, reaching an understanding about his prospective contract. However, the most challenging part of the deal is concurring to a fee with Atalanta, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

The maestro likes the idea of staying in Serie A, and the Bianconeri top his wish list of destinations. Conversely, the club is eager to complete the transfer despite its cost.

Juventus have dangled a few makeweights to sweeten the pot and reduce the monetary portion of their bid for Koopmeiners. Following Giorgio Scalvini’s massive injury, Atalanta might be keener on Dean Huijsen. They like Matias Soulé too, but he has large offers from foreign sides, and the Old Lady could go in such a direction.

The Turin-based outfit will have to shell out at least €55M for the star midfielder. Atalanta president Antonio Percassi talked about his ace to Sportitalia.

“It’s normal for a player of his caliber to draw interest from top teams. He has grown a lot since we signed him. We’ll evaluate his future with serenity. Our mindset has always been to be aware of our dimension and improve even through the sales.”

Our Take on Juventus and Koopmeiners

Considering all the breadcrumbs, it looks like one of those deals that will go through despite all the question marks and roadblocks unless a foreign powerhouse comes in with a massive offer. Huijsen is raw but is tailor-made to play in Gian Piero Gasperini’s system, so the two sides would scratch each other’s backs.
