Juventus Anxiously Await Nice Response After Improved Todibo Bid

Juventus are anxious to hear back from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice after tabling an improved bid for Jean-Clair Todibo on Tuesday. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italians have significantly increased their offer to get the deal over the line on short notice.

Todibo’s long-awaited move to Juventus is turning into a soap opera. Thiago Motta’s men have been hot on the 24-year-old’s heels since being defeated by Arsenal in the race to sign Riccardo Calafiori.

The former Barcelona defender has already agreed to join the Bianconeri. He has accordingly informed Nice of his decision. However, the French club will only sanction the transfer on their terms.

Negotiations between the parties are progressing slowly. Franck Haise’s charges are holding out for a €5m loan fee. On top of that, they expect Juventus to accept a mandatory buyout clause set at €30m.

Determined to bring the Frenchman to the Allianz Stadium, Juventus modified the buyout terms on Tuesday. They’re still waiting for Nice’s response, but there’s a growing optimism within the Turin giants hierarchy.

Todibo may not be the final piece of the puzzle. Juventus are still confident about signing Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta. The Dutchman fancies a move, but La Dea’s substantial €60m asking price remains an obstacle.

In other positive news for Juventus, Gleison Bremer is reportedly ‘strongly committed‘ to penning a contract extension. Recently approached by several Premier League clubs, the Brazilian wants to stay in Serie A after being convinced by the new project.
