Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea Ready to Swoop in on Hakan Calhanoglu

The negotiation between Milan and Hakan Calhanoglu has gotten complicated as there has been no recent progress. The two parties remain about €1M apart on the wages and the end date of his contract is quickly approaching. Juventus are considering adding him on a free transfer and are leading the race over Arsenal and Chelsea, Sky Sport reports.

An agreement seemed close in late February, when the player met with the management, but there has been no traction afterwards. The attacker wants €5M per year and is not willing to budge too much, while the officials are offering €4M and do not intend to raise their proposal.

The Turkish international has not had direct talks with other clubs, but the chances of him leaving are increasing. Juventus are very interested and his entourage also received bids from Arsenal and Chelsea, but they are lower than the Bianconeri’s one, the outlet informs.

Calhanoglu has been at Milan since 2017 and, after two up-and-down seasons, he flourished with Stefano Pioli at the helm. He had to deal with some some physical problems in the current campaign but has remained one of the linchpins of the offense.

In a recent presser, the coach stated that the attacker, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gianluigi Donnarumma, is serene and fully concentrated on the end of the season. He also suggested that qualifying for Champions League could change a lot for everybody involved. Milan are after Josip Ilicic as a possible cheap replacement if they lost their current no.10.
