Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri expects Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa to take their exciting attacking partnership to a new level. In an interview after his side’s emphatic 3-1 home win over Lazio, the ex-Milan coach expressed his optimism about what the future holds for his new offensive tandem.
Chiesa and Vlahovic have been the protagonists of Juve’s astounding Serie A start. The former has found the net in all three league appearances following a turbulent summer, packed with wild speculation linking him with several top clubs in the Premier League and Bayern Munich.
Likewise, Vlahovic seemed closer to leaving Juventus than staying during the transfer window just finished. After sticking with the Bianconeri shirt, the 23-year-old has soaked up the limelight as the team’s standout performer, netting four times this season to assume control of the club’s scoring charts.
Vlahovic’s brace, compounded by Chiesa’s third straight scoring appearance, inspired Juventus to a landslide victory against Lazio on Saturday. Allegri couldn’t help himself but set high expectations for his leading duo. He thinks the two are only beginning to tap into their full potential and expects their partnership to grow stronger as the season progresses.
