Juventus Captain Adrien Rabiot Outlines Scudetto Ambitions

Adrien Rabiot wore the captain’s armband as Juventus shared the spoils with Inter in Saturday’s uneventful draw at the Allianz Stadium. Serie A’s best defenses capitulated in the space of only six minutes before returning to their usual best in the last hour of play.

Juventus took the lead through Dusan Vlahovic before Lautaro Martinez’s 13th league goal of the season preserved Inter’s two-point lead at the table. Without the injured Danilo, Rabiot was the stand-in captain again after Massimiliano Allegri handed him the new role for the first time against Milan.

Unlike his manager, who insists Juventus don’t think about the Scudetto, Rabiot has lofty ambitions. The French midfielder sees Bianconeri as valid title contenders and believes tonight’s result won’t have much bearing on the final standings. But the Juventus ace recognizes the significance of taking a point against their fiercest rivals.

A good result, obviously we wanted to win, but Inter are a difficult team to play against,” the Juventus star said, as quoted by TMW. “Tonight wasn’t decisive. We’ll have time to get more points later. We want to win the Scudetto.

Rabiot won the Serie A title in his first season at Juventus. However, the club’s downfall has seen them go three campaigns without the crown. Helping Bianconeri regain domestic supremacy could be a fitting way for the 28-year-old to wave goodbye to the Turin faithful.

Unless Juventus find common ground with Rabiot in the coming months, this could be his last season in Italy.
