Juventus CEO Plays Coy After Meeting with Pogba Agent

Juventus held a summit with the entourage of Paul Pogba yesterday to formalize their interest in signing him on a free. Yet, CEO Maurizio Arrivabene told the press before the Lazio game: “He is a Manchester United player. We respect them, and we would have to inform them first due to a gentleman’s agreement. He has the same agent as Moise Kean and Luca Pellegrini, so talking is routine. He was not the main topic.”

The executive spoke with Sky: “I agree that we could use a top-notch midfielder, and we are making our evaluations. We need the right balance across every role. The squad has to be financially sustainable, and we want the right combination between youngsters and veterans.”

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus offered Pogba a three-year contract with €7.5M wages, plus add-ons that could allow him to reach the double-digit threshold. The vibe between the parties was cordial. However, the midfielder aims to get €12M net per year, and PSG could easily meet his requests. The Bianconeri are trying to exploit the fact that the French side will not be fully operational until they decide whether they will keep or oust director Leonardo.

Pogba commented on Paulo Dybala leaving Juventus on Instagram: “You are a top player and a great man. It is fantastic to be your friend and to have shared many moments. I hope to see you soon.” The French star also saluted Giorgio Chiellini: “What a wonderful career; It was a privilege to play with you.”
