Juventus Change Stance on Future of One of Their Strikers

Alvaro Morata was on the brink of leaving Juventus in January. Barcelona, and especially coach Xavi, pushed to sign him. However, they ultimately could not reach agreement with Atletico Madrid. Initially, the Bianconeri were open to letting him go, as they did not anticipate buying him out in June.

The Spaniard has looked revitalized after the addition of Dusan Vlahovic. According to Calciomercato.com, the Old Lady will try to keep him. Juventus have a €35M option to buy out Morata, which they consider too high. They will seek to negotiate it down to €15-20M. At those sums, they would be happy to retain him.

Massimiliano Allegri has always been a fan of the player. He has looked at ease as a pseudo-winger next to the center-forward. The coach was instrumental in steering the management towards partying ways with Dejan Kulusevski rather than the striker, the site adds.

At that point, the ball would be in the Colchoneros’ court. Luis Suarez might head elsewhere, as he is on an expiring contract. Considering the fee to redeem Antoine Griezmann, they might not have the funds to add another high-profile forward. Therefore, they might hold on to Morata unless they can sanction a deal with Juventus or Barcelona at acceptable terms.

The Blaugrana are expected to make another attempt. However, their La Liga rivals will not help them out with favorable formulas. Massimiliano Allegri dished on the striker today: “We will see at the end of the season, but he is unquestionable technically speaking.”
