Juventus Chief Confirms Interest in Former Inter Captain

Shortly after Juventus prioritized a move for Paris Saint-Germain outcast Milan Skriniar, Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed the club’s interest in the former Inter star. During his latest interview ahead of Juventus’ 2-0 win at Udinese, the Bianconeri CEO reiterated his ambition to sign a top-class replacement for Gleison Bremer.

When asked about the club’s priority for the January transfer window, Giuntoli replied:A central defender, via TMW.

Despite refusing to disclose names on his shortlist, the Juventus chief executive admitted he’s keeping close tabs on Skriniar.

At this moment, it’s premature. Things change continuously. Currently, we’re not making any moves, we’re just observing the situation,he stated after being asked to comment on recent rumors linking the 29-year-old with a switch to Juventus.

Juventus must dive back into the market to replace Bremer, who will likely miss out on the rest of the season after sustaining a nasty knee injury against RB Leipzig last month. The Brazilian has been the cornerstone of Thiago Motta’s backline this season.

However, in his absence, Juve’s backline has been porous. Before shutting out Udinese, Juventus had conceded seven goals in three matches between Serie A and UEFA Champions League, including a stomach-wrenching 2-2 home draw against Parma on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Skriniar could favor a move to Juventus despite his close ties with their arch-rivals Inter. The former Nerazzurri captain has grown frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities at the Parc des Princes and could request a transfer this winter.
