Juventus Coach Preaches Calm ahead of UCL Debut Versus Malmo

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri spoke to the press ahead of the clash with Malmo: “It is an important game. I am excited to be back in the Champions League. Every tilt is difficult here, and they are a very physical team. Afterward, we will focus on trying to fix our Serie A table, which will take longer. But I am confident.”

“We have to remain serene because we have had some good performances here and there, but we paid the price for some individual mistakes, which are not anything unusual. Surely, it is weird they all happened in short order. Anyway, Juventus would not have killed the League had we earned seven points already. The title race will be balanced, as I do not think anybody will run away with it. We want to return to the top positions in the next month and a half.”

“It is clear that we have had some consistency issues, both as a team and individually. We have to ameliorate on the pitch and mentally. Juventus have the quality to have a great season, but we have to use it from start to finish. We endured too many negative situations already. We must find our humility and spirit of sacrifice back. The players must take responsibility, avoiding alibis. We just have to wake up, especially the youngsters. When you wear this jersey, victory is the only goal. We must show some fight. The pressure will be on us tomorrow, but we have to get used to that. We are not among the favorites in Champions League, but that does not mean that we do not want to win it.”
