Juventus formally announced the acquisition of Nico Gonzalez late on Sunday night after reaching an agreement with Fiorentina earlier in the weekend. They’ll pay up to €38M for the winger. They had to overcome the sellers’ resistance and get close to their initial price tag to get the deal done.
The two teams concurred on a loan with an obligation to buy. The Bianconeri will shell out €8M right away, €25M in a year, and potentially €5M add-ons. A portion of the bonuses is easy to achieve.
Nico Gonzalez talked to the club’s TV upon completing his switch to Juventus.
“When you start your career, you beging thinking big. Coming here in this club represents achieving that. I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch. Wearing these colors is a dream come true. I’m here to win. I didn’t talk with Dusan Vlahovic beforehand because I didn’t want to create any troubles. I’ll see him in the locker room. My strengths are taking on opponents, shooting, and headers. I’ll do my best to prevail in every single game and give my 100 percent.”
Fiorentina and the Old Lady remain in talks to broker the transfer of Filip Kostic in the opposite direction, Alfredo Pedullà relays. The Gigliati have to convince the Serb to join.

They needed an established right winger, preferably a lefty, and they got one of the best in Serie A. They’ll be able to make up for his injury woes better than the Viola. The cost was sizeable but more reasonable than their previous deals with Fiorentina. It’ll look better if they could ship off one of their outcasts to them.
