With Arsenal trying to sign Arthur, Juventus are doing their homework to find a substitute. The two sides are not close to reaching agreement just yet, but it could happen in the remaining portion of the January window.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Bianconeri have re-opened contacts with Borussia Moenchengladbach for Denis Zakaria. The midfielder has announced that he will bolt as a free agent at the end of the season. The Italian side likely inquired about the fee for an immediate purchase. The intentions of the players remain to be seen, though. He seemed to be leaning towards a move to the Premier League in recent weeks, Kicker reports.

Another option to fill in for Arthur is Nicolò Rovella, as Juventus reached out to Genoa to terminate his loan spell early. The Bianconeri had agreed to have him spend the entirety of the season there. On the other hand, the Rossoblù went through an ownership change since it happened. They are overhauling their squad in January and could be more open to releasing him. He recently returned from a significant thigh injury but was a late scratch versus Fiorentina for a problem in the same area.

Juventus do not want to let Arthur go on a simple loan, so Arsenal will have to come up with a different formula. The Turin side are also tracking Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Bruno Guimaraes. Chelsea rejected their initial proposal for the Englishman. The Bianconeri could have different departures in the role as well.
