Juventus Contemplating Loan Move for Former Star

Juventus are in the market, searching for a new midfielder to address a deepening midfield crisis in light of recent events. Soon after Paul Pogba failed a drug test, Nicolo Fagioli potentially faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines amid an ominous-looking betting scandal

According to Tuttojuve, Toronto FC ace Federico Bernardeschi has emerged as a potential short-term candidate to fill the vacancy. The 29-year-old has established himself as a significant first-team cog for the Major League Soccer franchise since leaving Serie A to join the Canadian outfit in 2022.

Bernardeschi played for Juventus for five years before leaving his homeland last summer. But his stint at the Allianz Stadium wasn’t as successful as Bianconeri hoped when they paid Fiorentina €40 million to sign him in 2017. He had often struggled to be a difference-maker, which led to his exit.

The Italian playmaker could temporarily return to Juventus. With Torino missing out on MLS playoffs, Bernardeschi has received a green light to leave the club on loan. The new MLS season starts at the beginning of 2024, and the left-footed star could return to Europe during the break.

Massimiliano Allegri is open to the possibility of working with Bernardeschi again. Meanwhile, the player is keen to return to Juventus to bolster his chances of making the cut for Euro 2024, with Italy hitting their stride in the ongoing qualifying campaign.
