Juventus Contemplating Offering Chiesa an Extension

Federico Chiesa had a scintillating seasonal debut and looked as explosive as before his massive knee injury. The attacker scored just a couple of minutes into the Udinese game and was the main driving force of the offense.

Per Corriere dello Sport, while most Juventus stars are available for the right price, only a humungous offer could lead to his departure at this point. It’ll take at least €50M for the Old Lady to even sit at the table. The management is mulling proposing a renewal.

Chiesa is under contract only until 2025, so the matter is about to become urgent. The only tangible bids arrived from Aston Villa, which signed Nicolò Zaniolo, and from Saudi Arabia early in the summer, which were quickly rebuffed.

The Italy staple fared well as a second striker. He commented after the opener.

“I’m comfortable in that role. We don’t stand still. That’s what the coach demands. We were intense and must always play like that. This is modern football. We must press, not sit back.”

Our Take on the Future of Chiesa

Technically speaking, it doesn’t make any sense to part ways with arguably the most talented man on the roster. That valuation is peanuts nowadays. They have about a year to handle the situation, but they must come to terms on an extension sooner rather than later.
