Juventus might be running unopposed for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but the negotiation with Lazio, with which they have a poor relationship, will be challenging. They might have to give up one of the youngsters they wish to keep, Nicolò Rovella, to acquire the Serbian for an affordable fee, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.
The star midfielder has been keen on the destination for years. He’s well willing to move to Turin even though the Biancocelesti qualified for the Champions League, and the Old Lady didn’t. His agent Mateja Kezman has reached an agreement in principle on personal terms. He’d get a four-year contract with €4M salary, €1M more than his current one.
On the other hand, Lazio demanded €40M on the nail for Milinkovic-Savic, which Juventus consider too high. He has just a year on his deal and no intention of prolonging it. The Bianconeri don’t want to part ways with Rovella. However, they could give in if he’s the only player that could break the impasse. Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of the starlet and wishes to add a new deep-lying playmaker.
At that point, the Old Lady could get it done by spending €15/20M. Luca Pellegrini returning to Rome on loan could be part of the deal. They would zero in on the Sergeant only if Adrien Rabiot turned down an extension.
According to Alfredo Pedullà, Simone Inzaghi would like to reunite with his former player. However, Milinkovic-Savic isn’t in Inter execs’ plans at the moment. Their choice might be definitive. Lazio are hoping that a foreign powerhouse materializes and matches their request. There have been no hints about that thus far, though.
