Juventus Decide to Stand Pat, Find New Homes for a Few Youngsters

The early rumors on deadline day turned out to be truthful. Juventus did not make a last-ditch attempt to sign Miralem Pjanic. Instead, acquiring Mauro Icardi from PSG always seemed a long-shot. The Bianconeri announced just two signings Tuesday: Moise Kean and Mohammed Ihattaren. The former PSV attacker immediately joined Sampdoria on loan.

It was not the only deal between the club. Radu Dragusin moved to the Blucerchiati with the same formula. Juventus almost lost the center-back in recent months as they had troubles reaching agreement on his extension. They eventually managed, and he penned a five-year contract. He will compete with Maya Yoshida, Omar Colley and Julian Chabot in Liguria. Daniele Rugani will be the fourth option in the back behind Matthijs De Ligt, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.

Juventus also sent out on loan two young protagonists of the offseason. Filippo Ranocchia will play at Vicenza in the 2021-2022 season, while Nicolò Fagioli transferred to Cremonese. The duo was part of the U-23 team in recent years. One of the members of the Serie C side will move up the ladder, as Salernitana brought in center-back Filippo Delli Carri.

The Bianconeri decided to hold onto Luca Pellegrini despite the requests from Sampdoria and West Ham, Goal.com reports. With him and Mattia De Sciglio staying put, Juventus will have five fullbacks, considering Danilo and Alex Sandro. That will allow Massimiliano Allegri to field Juan Cuadrado in offensive roles more often.
