Dusan Vlahovic, who’s having a very bumpy season, continues to be linked to an exit, as Juventus might have to bankroll their summer moves through a pricey sale. The club’s chief football officer Francesco Calvo silenced the chatter in his pre-game remarks to Sky before the first leg against Sporting CP.
“There’s no doubt that he’s at the center of our project for the future. He has displayed many qualities, while others are still untapped. We see that every day. He works hard and wants to improve. For that reason, we’re serene even though he’s not going through his best stretch. We are optimistic about his performances in the remainder of the season.”
The director and the club are patiently awaiting the outcome of the appeal against the point deduction.
“The eves of games are always peculiar for executives. Instead, the players are focused on the pitch and don’t talk about these topics. We carry such burden. We don’t make prognostications and are simply waiting for April 19th, as we have been doing for a few months. The ruling will help us figure out our objectives, besides Coppa Italia and Europa League.”
Calvo admitted that the looming uncertainty didn’t allow them to plan much for the future.
“We are doing so, but we have to sketch out different hypotheses. The club and ownership are solid, which makes the task less arduous.”
Vlahovic quickly recovered from an ankle sprain and came off the bench against Sporting CP, participating in the lone goal of the game.
