Juventus Eager to Complete Two Priority Renewals

After the end of the window, Cristiano Giuntoli is ready to dive in on the contract extensions, and some negotiations will be a lot easier than others. The Juventus hierarchy will try to reach an agreement with Federico Gatti and especially Dusan Vlahovic, whose salary is one of the most delicate matters at the club.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri will meet his agent in late September or early October. His deal lasts until 2026. There’s time to haggle, but the parties need to shake hands before next summer. Otherwise, he’ll be in the same position as Federico Chiesa, who ended up leaving for a low fee. His salary is an issue, as he’s making €10.5M due to previous clauses and the installments of his massive signing bonuses. It’ll further grow to €12M in the next two years without a new agreement. Instead, for instance, Teun Koopmeiners and Douglas Luiz pocket €4/4.5M net.

Juventus aim to dilute the wages of Vlahovic in a longer contract, adding one or two more years. There’s quiet optimism, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be on board with that. Some bonuses would help make up the difference and keep his earnings close, or above, the eight-digit threshold.

Instead, Gatti should re-up his contract within a month, extending it until 2029 and enjoying a pay bump from €1.4 to €2.3M, TuttoSport relays.

Our Take on Juventus and Vlahovic

Their urgency is correct, but they may want to see whether he thrives in Thiago Motta’s system before committing such a large amount of money to him, especially given their recent MO.
