Juventus Earmark Bosman Pair to Succeed Aging Defender

Juventus will hunt for a left-footed midfielder to substitute for Alex Sandro. His contract is up at the end of the season and won’t be renewed. He hasn’t been a regular this season. The Bianconeri, despite adding Tiago Djaló, will need a new piece to have sufficient depth, La Stampa reported (via OneFootball).

The Old Lady is competing for a couple of players in the same situation: Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly and Atletico Madrid’s Mario Hermoso. Milan and the top English sides are tracking the former too. Instead, it’s not certain that the Spaniard will leave the Colchoneros.

If they missed out on the Bosman duo, Juventus will examine Riccardo Calafiori, who’s blossoming at Bologna, Reinildo, who also plays for the Rojiblancos and recently returned from an ACL tear, and RB Salzburg’s Strahinja Pavlovic, whom they pursued in the past.

The 22-year-old has found his footing in Austria after several stops in other leagues. His current side paid €7M to acquire him outright from Monaco in 2022. He has 32 caps and 3 goals with his national team.

Our Take on Juventus Replacing Alex Sandro

Even should they keep everybody else, they’ll definitely need a new man, even if he might not come in as a surefire starter. Director Cristiano Giuntoli has always gone young and pretty cheap, especially in terms of salary, with his few signings so far. Calafiori would be a great purchase.
