Juventus Earmark Two Alternatives if Federico Gatti Hits the Road

Federico Gatti could depart Juventus in the coming months, with Newcastle United ready to table an ‘important’ offer for the Italian center-back. According to Il Bianconero, the record-time Serie A champions wouldn’t stay immune to a bid between €25-30 million despite considering the 25-year-old significant to their project.

Gatti amassed 32 league appearances for Juventus last term. He has another four years left to run on his current contract. It puts the club in a strong bargaining position. However, Newcastle’s well-documented financial prowess knows no limits. Therefore, the Magpies could snap up the Juventus ace to strengthen their rearguard.

If Gatti does leave, Juventus will dive back into the market for a new defender. Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori is a dream signing. His arrival has nothing to do with Gatti’s future in Turin. But the clubs remain at odds regarding their valuations of the Italy international, who impressed during the Euro 2024 group stage.

Apart from Calafiori, Juventus are keeping close tabs on two more alternatives. Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo and Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior rank high on the Bianconeri’s shortlist. The former could soon cut ties with the French Riviera outfit. Yet Juventus would have to overcome stiff competition from Manchester United to bring him to Serie A.

Kiwior, on the other hand, is no stranger to Italian football. He used Spezia as a springboard to secure a high-profile move to Arsenal in January 2023. The Polish starlet has failed to settle in London and could find a chance to join Juventus tempting.
