Juventus Edge Closer to Free Transfer for Barcelona Outcast

New contacts have taken place between Juventus and the entourage of Barcelona outcast Memphis Depay, according to Calciomercato. The Dutch forward has evidently lost his place under Xavi Hernandez following the signings of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Having followed him eagerly in earlier transfer windows, the Bianconeri are now closer than ever to sealing his signature on a permanent deal.

The Blaugrana are in a precarious financial position, and offloading a few players is the need of the hour at Camp Nou. Depay is now close to terminating his deal with the club, but only once an agreement with Juventus is completed and sealed. However, the details of the severance pay deal between the Depay and Barca is yet unknown.

The report indicates that Juve are on an amiable path to sign Depay, especially on the financial front. A two-year contract has been proposed by the Bianconeri, including a salary of €6M net per season deal.
