Juventus Encounter Problems With The Sale of Forgotten Star

Juventus are desperate to offload out-of-sorts midfielder Denis Zakaria, but a lack of suitors threatens to impede their bid. According to Tuttojuve, three potential candidates to land the Switzerland international are unwilling to meet the Italians’ asking price.

Zakaria spent last season on loan at Chelsea. However, he experienced a torrid time at Stamford Bridge. Instead of reigniting his career in London following a turbulent start at Juventus, the 26-year-old’s stock has been in freefall.

Since leaving Borussia Monchengladbach in January 2022, Zakaria’s career has taken a downward trajectory. Juventus seemingly don’t care enough about their player’s troubles. Despite his poor form, the record-time Serie A champions have pinned a €20 million price tag on his head.

Monaco, RB Leipzig, and West Ham United have emerged as potential buyers for the forgotten Juventus man. However, none of them are ready to go beyond €15m to close the deal. With the Bianconeri reluctant to budge on their stance, Zakaria is more likely to stay put.

Unfortunately for the troubled midfielder, he is no longer part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans. And with Euro 2024 around the corner, he cannot afford to spend another season on the sidelines if he’s to make the Swiss squad, provided they qualify for the tournament in the first place.

After his former Gladbach boss Adi Hutter took charge of Monaco, the French principality could provide safe shelter for Zakaria. But Juventus must reduce their asking price first. Meanwhile, they’ve set their sights on Inter-linked Monza wing-back Carlos Augusto.
