Serie A heavyweights Juventus have reportedly made contact with Borussia Dortmund starlet Karim Adeyemi. According to Sky Germany, the Italians have yet to open talks with the Bundesliga outfit despite making progress in discussions with the player.
The latest reports in Italy suggest Juventus and Adeyemi have already agreed on personal terms. Though the German sources rubbished such claims, they confirm there’s a genuine interest in the versatile forward driven by the new Bianconeri manager, Thiago Motta.
It’s no secret that Juventus are in the market for a new winger. Motta’s initial target was Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho. The Englishman, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Signal Iduna Park, has no future at Old Trafford and will be allowed to leave.
Despite putting Sancho up for sale, the Red Devils will probably look for a substantial figure to cut him loose. On the other hand, Adeyemi is a more affordable option. But that doesn’t mean he’ll come cheap. Juventus may need to allocate up to €40 million to get Dortmund’s approval.
After signing the likes of Douglas Luiz, Michele Di Gregorio, and Khephren Thuram, Juventus must sell before they can buy again. Motta’s men are already working on the outgoing front. Federico Chiesa and Matias Soule are on the chopping block, with the latter heavily linked with Roma.
Juventus are ready to offload Soule, whose €30m price tag would unlock the club’s pursuit of Adeyemi.
