Juventus Executive Comments on New Attack and Its Future

Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved has appreciated the performances of the two January newcomers and hinted that the club would try to keep the attack together: “Our ambitions are always the same, and ownership gave us precise indications. We are almost where we want to be at this point of the season. We advanced in Coppa Italia and Champions League, while we have a lot of ground to make up in Serie A.”

The executive talked to SportMediaset before the Coppa Italia win over Sassuolo: “We liked a lot how the trident has fared so far. Should they keep it going, it would be hard to take the starting jobs away from them. But I am sure Massimiliano Allegri is plotting some changes anyway. As for next season, we will see, considering their contractual statuses.”

Besides Dusan Vlahovic, the future of the two other members of the Juventus attack is highly uncertain. Paulo Dybala is on an expiring deal. Moreover, the management has to make a decision on a €35M option to buy out Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid.

According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri brass has yet to reopen talks with the Argentinian striker following the January window. They plan to offer him the same salary as the Serbian striker, which would be lower than what they proposed beforehand.

Nedved also dished on Denis Zakaria: “He can play anywhere in the midfield regardless of the scheme. He is a solid all-around player, and we did not have somebody like him. Props to Maurizio Arrivabene and Federico Cherubini.”
