Juventus exec Cristiano Giuntoli met with Veronique Rabiot, the mother and agent of Adrien, last week, but there were no tangible advancements as far as the negotiation to renew his expiring contract is concerned, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed.
The Old Lady hasn’t tabled their proposal yet. It is waiting for a real signal from the midfielder regarding his desire to stay put. In any case, there won’t be a repeat of what happened last summer. The star agreed to a one-year renewal, confirming his wages, in late June.
Both Juventus and Rabiot want a longer deal this time around. Conversely, the Bianconeri would like the linchpin to reduce his yearly salary in that event. He makes €7.5M. Bayern Munich have joined the sides keeping tabs on him.
The Bianconeri will have to add to their midfield whether the Frenchman stays or not. They are examining Manuel Ugarte, who hasn’t broken through at PSG despite a €60M transfer from Sporting CP last summer. However, the French side doesn’t want to loan him out. His valuation remains robust despite a disappointing campaign.
🔴🔵🇺🇾 Paris Saint-Germain have very clear stance about Manuel Ugarte: no chance for loan move in the summer.
Despite reports, Ugarte won’t leave PSG on loan with the current plan decided internally. pic.twitter.com/MKgWhTwMf7

Our Take on Juventus and Rabiot
If they want to avoid the mistakes of their previous officials, the Bianconeri need to end this year-to-year saga so they can plan ahead, either with a lengthy contract or walking away from the negotiating table if they can’t obtain what they want. Getting a player under 30 to decrease his salary is almost wishful thinking.
