Juventus are keeping tabs on a few youngsters ahead of the summer and are particularly intrigued by Facinet Conte, who’s turning heads at Bastia in Ligue 2. The 18-year-old is already a regular in a competitive championship and has caught the attention of a few big clubs, La Gazzetta dello Sport informed (via Virgilio).
The teenager has scored 5 goals in 15 matches so far. Considering his power and technique, he has drawn comparisons with Victor Osimhen, although he’s smaller. The Bianconeri are trying to move early to beat the competition of multiple French sides.
Juventus will have to make a fairly sizeable investment to acquire Conte. Genoa approached him and Bastia in January, but a €3.5/4M offer wasn’t enough to seal the deal.
Despite his young age, the forward was called up by Ivory Coast for the recent AFCON. He has appeared four times, missing one game due to disqualification. His current team signed him from Flamme Olympique last summer. His contract lasts until the end of the season but envisages a two-year option.
Our Take on Juventus and Conte
They have bagged a pair of talents in recent windows, but, with the help of the Next Gen squad and the possibility of giving real minutes to unproven players, Cristiano Giuntoli and his men will likely take more bites of the apple to try unearthing cost-effective gems.
