While Sergio Aguero wishes stay at Manchester City, the agreement to extend his contract that is up in the summer has yet to be reached and Juventus, alongside PSG, are among the clubs most interested in adding him for free, ESPN reported.
The Argentinian international made his return to the XI over the weekend versus West Ham, getting the nod from the start for the first time since late October as he had to deal with multiple injuries and with COVID in recent months. The physical problems limited him to just 11 appearances and 2 goals this season.
The 32-year-old striker is negotiating a renewal with his current club, however the Citizens plan to add high-profile forward in the summer irrespective of the results of the talks with their all-time leading scorer, something that might facilitate his exit.
Juventus already tried to sign Aguero back in the day while he was still at Atletico Madrid, but their attempt was unsuccessful. They have generally been very attentive in the free agent market, a strategy that netted them Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal and Adrien Rabiot from PSG in recent years. In the past, also Paul Pogba, Kingsley Coman, Emre Can and Fernando Llorente joined in the same fashion.
The French champions are also keen on Aguero for the same reason as they intend to limit their spending in the next window and will try to exploit the hiring of Mauricio Pochettino to lure his compatriot, the outlet added.
