Juventus Financially Hamstrung in Chase of French Star

Juventus have been routinely linked to Paul Pogba, as his contract with Manchester United is about to run out. However, his return is not easy because he would have to make major economic sacrifices if he opted to join the Bianconeri.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Old Lady could offer him at most €7-8M per year, plus add-ons. The midfielder might indeed be willing to take a discount. However, he earns €15M with the Red Devils, so the gap is steep, and he has other rich offers. The Old Lady hold out some hope, but it mostly needs to be a sentimental choice by him.

PSG have better chances to snatch Pogba than Juventus, Tuttomercatoweb informs. The parties have had fruitful talks over the last few weeks. Real Madrid remain in the race, as they might make a sudden move as they did for Antonio Rudiger. Instead, Manchester City are not pursuing him, Pedullà informs.

The Bianconeri wish to add a top-notch midfielder in the summer. Rather than handing out a massive salary to Pobga, Juventus might invest in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, despite the hefty fee to acquire him from Lazio. He currently earns just €4M per year. They took such route in January with Dusan Vlahovic.

If PSG did sign the French ace, the Old Lady would have to one fewer rival for the Biancocelesti star. Manchester United would figure to be their main foes at that point. Dragan Stojkovic, the coach of the Serbian national team, advised Milinkovic-Savic to join Juventus in an interview with TuttoSport: “They are an institution, and he would play with Vlahovic. He would be perfect for them, as they miss somebody like him in the midfield. He has physique and can score and assist, and he knows Serie A.”
