Arthur Melo’s future at Juventus is dead in the water, but his services remain in high demand in Italy and abroad. According to Calciomercato, the former Barcelona flop can choose between a variety of options if he decides to part with the Bianconeri in the January transfer window.

Juventus and Barcelona have profoundly regretted swapping Miralem Pjanic and Arthur in 2020. While the Bosnian barely lasted two years at Camo Nou after arriving as one of the best midfielders in Serie A, the Brazilian’s career at the Allianz Stadium has never taken off.

Unable to secure regular first-team opportunities in Turin, Arthur first left Juventus for a horror season-long loan at Liverpool in 2022/23. But after failing to make an appearance in the Premier League, the 28-year-old returned to base as a disgrace last summer.

Fiorentina offered the Juventus outcast the benefit of the doubt, taking him under their wing in 2023/24. It was an utter success as Arthur thrived under former La Viola boss Vincenzo Italiano. His departure for Bologna hasn’t changed the club’s status on the diminutive midfielder.

Indeed, Fiorentina would have Arthur back for another loan this winter. However, they’re not alone. Roberto De Zerbi is keen to put the Brazilian out of his Juventus misery by offering him a fresh start at Olympique Marseille, where he’d reunite with Adrien Rabiot.

Premier League underachievers Everton are also in the mix. Juventus won’t stand in Arthur’s way, so it will likely be up to him to decide where he wants to go next.
