Juventus Fullback Comments on His Contractual Situation

Alex Sandro has entered the final year of his contract with Juventus. The club, which unsuccessfully tried to offload him in recent windows, is seemingly already working to replace him. But the fullback left the door open for a continuation of the relationship after the Bologna game speaking to DAZN.

“We worked hard and with the right mentality this week. We had to take home the three points in this one, and we played with great humility. In this difficult phase, it’s paramount for us to do simple things. We tried and managed in this one.”

Alex Sandro went on to praise the Juventus strikers.

“When we play with Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik up front, we can cross the ball into the box with our eyes closed. The fullbacks and wingers know that of them will always be there.”

The veteran was quizzed about whether he’d prefer lifting the Scudetto with the Bianconeri or the World Cup with Brazil.

“We have good chances in either case. I hope both things happen.”

Finally, he talked about a potential contract extension.

“It’s up to the management, as I can’t do it on my own.”

Our Take on Juventus and Alex Sandro

With the links to Remy Bensebaini, Alex Grimaldo, and other left-backs growing by the day, the Bianconeri might have already made the call. The new element is that the ever-seesawing defender has actually been fine and reliable this season after a pair of disappointing ones. Still, he’s 31 and has rarely lived up to his €6M salary. If he carries on like this, the decision will be more financial than technical.
