Juventus Hatch Long-Shot Plan to Sign Monaco Starlet in January

Juventus have identified their top target to strengthen the midfield. However, the road to get him in January is filled with obstacles. The management and the coaching staff are enamored with Aurelien Tchouameni, but the competition is stiff and the money tight.

A few things would have to fall into place for their chase to be successful, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports. First of all, Aaron Ramsey would have to leave, opening up a spot in the lists and lowering the payroll. Juventus are hopeful Newcastle could make a move following the Arab takeover. Spanish rumors suggest they approached the Welshman offering a three-year contract. But the Bianconeri have yet to hear directly from the English team.

Monaco will ask for at least €30/40M to sell Tchouameni. Juventus will propose a swap deal with Weston McKennie, whom they consider expendable. The club of the Principality has not shown any interest in the American so far. However, the Bianconeri could be able to cash in on him in the Premier League. Chelsea and Real Madrid represent the biggest threats to their plans, as they could easily outbid them.

For the future, Juventus are still holding out some hope of bringing back Paul Pogba. However, they would need the star to accept an inferior salary as they could at most offer him €10M per year. The Manchester United star is discussing an extension with his current side. PSG and Real Madrid are also after him in case he leaves as a free agent.
