Juventus Have Different Plans for Two of Their Veterans

Juventus are assessing their own players after a bombastic January window and are leaning towards going in two opposite directions for Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro. The former is nearing an extension while they are looking for replacements for the latter, Calciomercato.com reports.

The Colombian winger has only a few months left on his deal. His agent is expected to fly to Turin in the next few days. The parties are on the same page about sticking together. The club holds an option to tack on another year. However, the directors are keen on negotiating a new deal. Its length will hinge on the results of the talks.

While Cuadrado is highly like to stay at Juventus, Alex Sandro could be on his way out in the summer. His contract expires in 2023, and he has large wages. Chelsea briefly inquired about him in January, the site adds.

The Bianconeri are scouting a few left-backs to substitute him. They are after Andrea Cambiaso, who is currently their top target and has a €10/12M price tag. Atalanta and Inter are also eyeing him, though. Destiny Udogie is on their radar too, as he is having an impressive season considering his age. Udinese acquired him for €4M from Verona last summer.

The Old Lady expressed interest in AZ Alkmaar’s Owen Wijndal as well. He has 11 caps with the Netherlands and is represented by Mino Raiola. Regardless of the future of Cuadrado and Alex Sandro, Juventus want to continue adding young pieces to their squad.
