Hamed Junior Traorè has risen to the occasion in the most recent Sassuolo games where they had to deal with a slew of absences. He has scored 3 goals in the last 4 contests, bringing his seasonal tally to 5, plus one assist. Multiple teams are eyeing him, but Juventus have the inside track to acquire him, Tuttomercatoweb.com reports.
Two years ago, the move of the young midfielder from Empoli to the Neroverdi was engineered by the Old Lady. He joined his current club on a 24-month loan with a €16M obligation to buy, while the Bianconeri can sign him for €2M more.
It is the same type of deal orchestrated by the two sides in 2019 involving Merih Demiral. The defender was purchased from Galatasaray for €8M and transferred to Turin six months later for €18M even though other outfits were offering more.
Juventus have yet to make a decision on whether to bring Traorè over this summer already. He would fit their recent strategy of adding mostly youngsters with low wages. He would be another versatile piece in the midfield as he can feature in multiple positions.
The starlet has not always had the easiest relationship with Roberto De Zerbi, but the coach praised him in his recent pressers: “Traorè is a pure talent. We expected more from him and he has started to show it. He can become a top-notch player, but in previous months he had to fight for minutes with the likes of Jeremie Boga, Domenico Berardi and other contributors.” Back in December, the gaffer indicated him as the next break-out candidate within the squad.
