Juventus have stepped up their efforts to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United. However, they want to do it on their own terms. The Bianconeri have been linked to a few offensive options but had yet to zero in on anybody. Alvaro Morata is highly likely to stay at this point. On the other hand, they lost Federico Chiesa for the season due to a knee injury.

According to Goal.com’s Romeo Agresti, the Bianconeri have been in touch with the entourage of the player lately. He seemed close to joining Sevilla at the beginning of January, but they just purchased Jesus Corona from Porto. The Spanish side remains in the mix, though.

At this stage, the talks between Juventus and the Red Devils for Martial have only been preliminary. The two sides have a good relationship. They reached an agreement in a hurry when Cristiano Ronaldo asked out last summer. The Bianconeri want the Frenchman on loan with option to buy. They are open to covering part of his salary but against paying an initial fee, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene addressed the Martial rumors before facing Sampdoria in Coppa Italia: “He is not a feasible option at the figures I have seen so far. We are not waiting for any move. It is not even a conversation at certain numbers.” The player has already voiced his desire to transfer since has not had a consistent role. He was dropped from the squad list for such reason in the most recent game.
