Juventus Inquired About Touted Olympique Lyonnais Star

Juventus have tested the waters with Olympique Lyonnais for Bruno Guimaraes. Given its cost, they are more likely to pursue the deal next summer. They are busier searching for a new striker in January.

According to Goal.com, the French club slapped a €45M price tag on the Brazilian midfielder. They could be open to an initial loan with obligation to buy, but that would not decrease the disbursement. Juventus had looked for a new contributor in the role in previous months. They halted their search once Arthur returned from injury.

Bruno Guimaraes joined Olympique Lyonnais from Atletico Paranaense in January of 2020 for €20M. The 24-year-old has provided eight assists in 69 appearances with the Ligue 1 team. He has scored three goals, one of which against the Old Lady in the Round of 16 of the 2019-2020 Champions League.

The Bianconeri would have to properly cash in on a few sales to bankroll such an expensive acquisition. A few of their players are available for the right bid, but they are unlikely to depart soon. Arsenal and Sevilla opened talks for Dejan Kulusevski and Arthur, but they did not offer enough money or the right formula, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays. The Gunners are after Guimaraes as well. Conversely, Olympique Lyonnais asked Juventus for the ex-Barcelona midfielder.

Adrien Rabiot could transfer for €10/15M, but he turned down a move to Newcastle, Calciomercato.com reports. Juventus are trying to convince Aaron Ramsey to join Crystal Palace, but he just tested positive for COVID-19, which will delay his departure, Corriere dello Sport informs.
