Juventus Interested in Highly-Rated Leeds United Talent

Juventus are watching Italy starlet Wilfried Gnonto with a keen interest ahead of the summer. The Bianconeri would like to increase their Azzurri colony, and the youngster would give them major flexibility on offense, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The attacker joined Leeds United for €4.5M from Zurich in 2022. His valuation ballooned in a short amount of time. He has recorded 4 goals and 3 assists in 20 appearances with the Whites. He has ten caps with the national team, scoring once.

Gnonto has a hefty price tag, but Juventus have a pair of aces up their sleeves to facilitate the deal. The English team signed Weston McKennie in January. It’s technically a loan with option to buy. However, the two clubs have an agreement in place to make it permanent if Leeds United avoid relegation. The USMNT staple wanted to avoid risks and agreed to move only with such formula to be safe.

The Whites are currently 14th but just two points avoid clear of 18th-placed West Ham. If they stay in Premier League, the talks to redeem the midfielder could expand to the prodigy. In addition, the Old Lady is looking for suitors for Moise Kean, whom they were forced to redeem for €28M. Even though he has mostly been underwhelming, they’d have to replace him for depth purposes if he left. He’s looking to play more as well.

Our Take on Juventus and Gnonto

There’s already a connection between the two teams, and he’s a more believable option than Nicolò Zaniolo. They should definitely move on from Kean and hold on to Arkadiusz Milik. The youngster would be a highly versatile weapon with great potential.
