Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Lille defender Sven Botman but aren’t the only club linked to him.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Bianconeri are considering making a move for the Dutchman during the summer. Roma are also interested in signing the 21-year-old, who is valued at €28m, as per Transfermarkt.
Botman has been a key player for Lille since joining them from Ajax and played a key role in them winning Ligue 1 last season. Injuries have limited the centre-back to only 12 appearances in 2021/22 so far. He scored in Lille’s opening league fixture against Metz that ended in a 3-3 draw.
With Giorgio Chiellini nearing retirement and Leonardo Bonucci not far from reaching the twilight of his career, Juventus need a few defensive reinforcements for the future.
Botman’s current contract with Lille runs out in 2025 but there is a good chance he could leave the club before that. The Dutchman would be a suitable addition to Juve’s squad, looking at the bigger picture.
