Juventus Interfere with Napoli Attempt for Raspadori

Giacomo Raspadori has accepted the contract offered to Napoli, but while they seek an agreement with Sassuolo, Juventus are keeping tabs on the negotiation to see whether they can still hijack it. The Bianconeri are looking for a versatile attacker.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Partenopei have zeroed in on the 22-year-old and he’d be happy to join. They have tendered €25/30M, and the clubs are debating the fee and the add-ons. The Emilian side wouldn’t want to sell another starlet. However, they don’t have a ton of leverage since his contract expires in 2024.

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali confirmed to Il Giornale (via SportMediaset).

“Napoli and Juventus are eyeing Raspadori. It’s clear that the transfer market is still long and anything can happen. However, our idea is to cease the talks in a few days to focus on matches. Our goal is to valorize our youngsters.”

The Old Lady has gotten in touch with his agent Tullio Tinti to see where things are at with Azzurri. The move puts pressure on the Partenopei, which need to seal the deal in a hurry to avoid unpleasant surprises. Though, it remains to be seen whether they will proceed before the potential sales of Piotr Zielinski to West Ham and Andrea Petagna to Monza.

Our Take on Napoli and Juventus Targeting Raspadori

He’d fit the former better since he’s primarily a no.10 or a second striker at this stage of his career, and they run 4-2-3-1 very well. On the other hand, he’s still young enough to be molded. While he wouldn’t be able to deputize Dusan Vlahovic, he has some experience on the left wing and could work out in the Bianconeri’s hybrid 4-3-3.
