Juventus Join Bayern and Madrid for Chelsea Defender

The 2020/21 European season witnessed Chelsea oust oppositions with great tactical strength and superior defending enroute their 2nd ever Champions League title. German stopper Antonio Rudiger was one of the reasons why Thomas Tuchel’s side conceded less than expected.

With his last season of contract being played out at the moment, Rudiger is yet to sign a contract extension with the London club. His to-be free agent status has put him on the radar of European heavyweights, including Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

According to Daily Telegraph (via Calciomercato), Juventus are also interested in the 28-year-old defender. The Bianconeri apparently want to boost their defensive options with Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci entering their twilight years.

The report also mentions of Rudiger and his entourage stalling over signing a new contract renewal deal with the Blues.

He is currently an integral part of Tuchel’s set up for the 2021/22 season but it is understood that it will most probably be his last season in the blue shirt.

Chelsea are set to sign Sevila centre-back Jules Kounde, who almost moved to the club on deadline day as Rudiger’s potential replacement. But a move for him never materialized. The Londoners will make another effort for the Frenchman, paving way for the German to part ways with the club – with Turin as his next potential destination.
