Juventus Join Inter in the Race to Sign Udinese Star

Juventus are poised to challenge Inter for Rodrigo De Paul and will inquire about his availability with Udinese when the two sides will meet on January 3rd, SportMediaset reports. The Friulani have remained steadfast in asking for at least €35M for their star midfielder, however the Old Lady could insert youngster Manolo Portanova and Daniele Rugani to reduce the cash compensation. On the matter, Tuttomercatoweb said that the Madama do not intend to spend more than €25M for the Argentinian international.

Rugani joined Rennes on a season-long loan on deadline day, but he has played just twice so far because of a severe thigh problem. He might head back to Turin regardless of the De Paul negotiation. Portanova instead has made two appearances in Serie A this year and might transfers anyway to join a team where he could feature more, as he is considered overqualified to play in the U-23 team.

De Paul had an interview with Sky Italy over the last few days, where he stated: “Udine is a great city and welcomed me with open arms. They allowed me to fulfill my dream of playing with the national team. I have received a lot and will miss it when I will depart. I know for sure that sooner or later I will play in the Champions League and I want to reach my goals. I am preparing for that. I do not want to force anything, I will leave at the right moment.”
