While it seems like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will most likely head towards the exit door at the end of this year’s Serie A campaign, Juventus have joined the race to sign the Lazio midfield ace.
As it stands, the 27 year-old’s contract with the Biancocelesti is set to expire at the end of the 2023-2024 season. However, it seems like Milinkovic-Savic is keen to depart the club sooner in order to seek a new opportunity and play Champions League football. Therefore, Lazio might be required to cash in on one of their most prized assets sooner than expected.
Within Allegri’s current squad, the Bianconeri are short of central midfielders following the departure of Rodrigo Bentacur. With the Old Lady most likely willing to offload Arthur at the end of the season, the club officials are prepared to submit a lucrative offer in order to lure the Serbian international to the Allianz Stadium.
So far this season, Milinkovic-Savic has been in spectacular form as the central midfielder has managed to score eight goals and provide eight assists in 26 appearances for the Biancocelesti within the Serie A.
Unfortunately for Juventus, the Old Lady face a great deal of competition for the Serbian international’s signature as European giants Real Madrid are also keen to sign the Lazio star. However, despite the difficult situation, Juventus are eager to acquire the Milinkovic-Savic as they firmly believe he can play a crucial role within the long-term future of the club.
