Juventus Keen to Reward Star Forward with New Contract

Juventus are determined to tie star winger Federico Chiesa down to a new long-term contract after fending off his suitors in the summer. According to Calciomercato, Massimiliano Allegri’s men have made the Italian forward central to their project despite being on the verge of a breakup not long ago.

Several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Aston Villa, were keen on luring Chiesa away from Juventus these past few months. Aware of the player’s poor relationship with Allegri following a disappointing last season, the English giants hoped to capitalize on the 25-year-old’s ambition to embark on a new adventure outside Turin.

However, Chiesa has had a change of heart after being promised to play in a more advanced position this term. Allegri used the ex-Fiorentina star as a wing-back last season, which frustrated the offensive-minded speed demon. After holding a series of future-defining discussions with Chiesa, the ex-Milan boss has decided to play him as a second striker this year.

Chiesa repaid the manager’s trust with a sublime performance in a 3-0 demolition of Udinese on the opening weekend. Despite failing to replicate that showing in a 1-1 draw against Bologna last time out, the sought-after forward has earned a safe future at Juventus.

Keen to reward Chiesa for his loyalty, Juventus are willing to renew his contract. The Italian’s current deal runs out in 2025, but the record-time Serie A champions are eager to issue a statement to potential buyers by handing him new terms.
