Juventus Lag Behind Real Madrid for Soon-To-Be Free Agent Dalot

Portugal right-back and former Roma target Diogo Dalot is on the verge of contract expiration at Manchester United. This has accelerated rumors of a potential exit for the 23-year-old wingback who has starred regularly for the Red Devils under Erik Ten Hag.

According to the Barcelona-based Spanish outlet El Nacional (via TuttoJuve), Juventus would be interested in bringing the Portuguese to the north of Italy, but they still lag behind another powerhouse. Reigning European champions Real Madrid are said to be leading the Bianconeri in the race for the ex-Milan class of 1999.

Juventus are preparing to lose Alex Sandro in the left-back position next summer, but it is in the right-back role where they lack reinforcements, with Brazilian wingback Danilo the only natural player in that position.

The Bianconeri have so far struggled on the wings this season, and the addition of Dalot could only arrive as a positive. However, they will need to shrug off interest from Los Blancos first.
