Juventus Legend Backs Bianconeri to Continue Recovering After Shaky Start

Bianconeri legend Alessandro Del Piero has hailed his former side for emerging stronger as the season progresses, after a shaky early start.

Juventus were clearly affected by the loss of their best goalscorer in Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Turin after three years to head back to Manchester United.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side snatched their fourth straight 1-0 victory against Zenit St. Petersburg and remain unbeaten in eight matches, since their 2-1 loss at the hands of Napoli back in September.

While a string of 1-0 wins has garnered unwanted criticism because of the poor goalscoring record, Del Piero has insisted that the team is in recovery and stressed that the simplest way to win is not to concede.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, the legendary captain commented: “Juventus are in clear recovery in all aspects. Not conceding goals to win is the old rule, but it’s always important. It gives awareness to your defensive phase; it gives you peace of mind.

Juventus have the talent up front to score the goals. It’s simple match: if I sooner or later score and don’t concede, it’s much easier to win games.”

They sit atop Group H with nine points from three games and look like an outfit well capable of upsetting the odds.
