Juventus Linked to Sporting CP Colossus, Weigh Swap

Juventus are in the market for a young defender and have laid eyes on a touted one, Ousmane Diomande, who stars for Sporting CP. He’s left-footed and has a sizeable valuation, but the Bianconeri might have some advantages in their chase, TuttoSport informs (via Fantacalcio).

The Portuguese side is said to be keen on Kaio Jorge, who’s expendable at the right price like most players. He has recovered fully from a massive knee injury and is having an okay season at Frosinone. He has a €15/20M price tag.

Juventus have earmarked Diomande and further top-notch defenders because they are wary of the incoming offers for Gleison Bremer. His entourage has fielded requests from Manchester United and Tottenham. It remains to be determined whether the Bianconeri would resist in front of a €70M offer.

The 19-year-old joined Sporting CP for Midtjylland in a €7.5M move in January 2023 following a loan spell at CD Mafra. He has accumulated 43 appearances since, scoring 3 goals. He has two caps with the Ivory Coast.

Our Take on Juventus and Diomande

They keep getting linked to expensive players in this role. While they might need one man depending on what they do with Dean Huijsen, it’s one of their last priorities. The scenario would obviously change if they cashed in on Bremer. Still, they’d go for more of a sure thing in that event. Moreover, Kaio Jorge would be a fine replacement for Moise Kean if they kept using a two-man attack.
