Juventus Linked to Talented Manchester City Defender

Manchester City star Aymeric Laporte is reportedly unhappy with his situation at the Etihad Stadium due to lack of playing time and is open to leaving in the final few weeks of the transfer window.

He has fallen behind Ruben Dias and John Stones in Pep Guardiola’s pecking order, as was the case last season enroute to winning the Premier League title.

Among names linked with a move for him are Juventus, according to The Times (via Manchester Evening News). The Serie A club are open to bolstering their defense ahead of the new season but the Spanish defender’s wage bill might prove to put off the Bianconeri’s interest. He is believed to earn around £160,000-per-week i.e. approximately in the €190,000 range.

He still has four years left on his City contract, which expires in June 2025. Laporte has a transfer market value of €45m, according to transfermarkt.

Juventus have already sealed the deal for Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo without paying a single penny upfront, but will have to shell out a considerable sum if they are to bring in the Aymeric Laporte.
